Attorney Network Agreement

Last updated: June 16, 2026

This Attorney Network Agreement ("Agreement") governs your participation in the Verom.ai attorney network. By joining the network, you agree to be bound by these terms in addition to the general Terms of Service.

Related documents: Terms of Service | Attorney Code of Conduct | Escrow Payment Terms | Anti-Fraud Policy | Privacy Policy

Why we have these terms: Every requirement below exists to protect you, your clients, and the integrity of the immigration legal profession. A safer marketplace means higher-quality referrals, better client trust, and a stronger reputation for every attorney on the platform.

1. Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Verom attorney network, you must:

2. Verification Process

Verom verifies attorney credentials through a multi-step process:

  1. Bar number verification — We verify your bar number against the relevant bar association database for each jurisdiction where you claim licensure
  2. Disciplinary record check — We check for any disciplinary history, suspensions, or sanctions
  3. Insurance verification — You must provide proof of active malpractice insurance
  4. Identity verification — Government-issued photo ID and live identity confirmation
  5. Manual review — During our launch phase, all attorney applications receive human review

Verification is ongoing. We periodically re-verify bar status and monitor disciplinary databases. You must notify Verom within 48 hours of any change to your bar status, disciplinary proceedings, or insurance coverage.

3. Independent Contractor Status

Attorneys on Verom are independent contractors, not employees. You:

Verom does not direct, supervise, or control your legal work. The attorney-client relationship is between you and your client exclusively.

4. Case Referrals and the Marketplace

Verom connects pre-screened applicants with verified attorneys through our marketplace. Participation in the marketplace is optional.

5. Fees and Payments

You set your own fees for all legal services. Verom does not dictate, approve, or cap attorney fees. However:

6. Response Time Commitments

Once you accept a case through the marketplace:

Repeated failure to meet response time commitments may result in reduced marketplace visibility or suspension from the network.

6A. Professional Rules Compliance

Your participation in the Verom network does not alter your professional obligations under applicable rules of professional conduct. By joining, you represent and agree that:

Competence (ABA Model Rule 1.1)

You will only accept cases for which you have the legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness, and preparation reasonably necessary for the representation. Using AI-assisted tools does not substitute for attorney competence; you remain responsible for understanding and supervising all AI outputs used in your legal work.

Communication (ABA Model Rule 1.4)

You will keep clients reasonably informed about the status of their matter, promptly comply with reasonable requests for information, and explain matters to the extent necessary for clients to make informed decisions.

Confidentiality (ABA Model Rule 1.6)

You will maintain confidentiality of information relating to client representation. You acknowledge that Verom implements technical controls to protect client communications, but you remain responsible for compliance with your jurisdiction's confidentiality rules, including any obligations when using AI tools to process client information.

Conflicts of Interest (ABA Model Rules 1.7, 1.9, 1.10)

You are solely responsible for identifying and resolving conflicts of interest before accepting any case. Verom provides conflict-check tools as a convenience only; these tools do not satisfy your professional conflict-check obligation. You must not accept representation when a conflict of interest exists unless fully informed written consent is obtained in compliance with applicable rules.

Fees (ABA Model Rule 1.5)

Your fees must be reasonable and communicated to clients in writing before or shortly after engagement begins. All marketplace fees must be processed through Verom's escrow system. Verom's platform fee is a technology service fee and does not constitute impermissible fee-splitting under ABA Model Rule 5.4 or its state equivalents, as Verom does not direct or supervise your legal work. You are responsible for confirming compliance with your specific jurisdiction's rules.

Supervision (ABA Model Rules 5.1, 5.3)

If you supervise other attorneys or non-attorney staff (including paralegals) who use Verom tools in connection with your cases, you remain responsible for ensuring their work complies with the rules of professional conduct. When using AI-assisted drafting tools, you must review all AI-generated content before use and exercise independent professional judgment.

Unauthorized Practice of Law (ABA Model Rules 5.4, 5.5)

You must not assist any person in the unauthorized practice of law. You acknowledge that Verom's AI tools, when used independently by non-attorneys, do not constitute legal services. However, if you supervise or direct non-attorney staff who use Verom tools on client matters, you are responsible for ensuring no UPL occurs.

Advertising and Solicitation (ABA Model Rules 7.1–7.3)

Your profile on Verom constitutes attorney advertising in applicable jurisdictions. You are responsible for ensuring your profile, stated specializations, claimed approval rates, and other representations comply with your jurisdiction's advertising rules. Do not make false or misleading statements about your qualifications, experience, or past results.

International Attorneys

Attorneys licensed outside the United States must comply with the professional conduct rules of their jurisdiction (e.g., SRA Code of Conduct in England and Wales, Law Society rules in Canada, MARA Code of Conduct in Australia). References to ABA Model Rules above are illustrative; your jurisdiction's equivalent rules apply.

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

You must:

8. Prohibited Conduct

Attorneys in the Verom network must not:

9. Performance Monitoring

Verom monitors attorney performance to maintain marketplace quality:

Performance data is used to optimize case matching and is partially visible to prospective clients (aggregate ratings and response times).

10. Consequences for Policy Violations

Verom uses graduated consequences for policy violations:

  1. Warning — written notice describing the violation and required corrective action
  2. Payment hold — pending escrow releases paused during investigation
  3. Marketplace suspension — temporary removal from case matching (existing cases continue)
  4. Network removal — permanent removal from the Verom attorney network

The severity of consequences depends on the nature and frequency of violations. Attorneys may appeal through our dispute resolution process.

11. Case Transfer

If you are unable to continue a case, or if you are removed from the network:

12. Intellectual Property

Tools, templates, and features provided by Verom are our intellectual property. You may use them in connection with Verom cases but may not copy, redistribute, or use them outside the platform.

13. Termination

Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time with 30 days written notice. Upon termination:

14. Limitation of Liability

Verom is not liable for the quality, outcome, or legality of legal services provided by attorneys on the platform. Attorneys are solely responsible for their professional obligations and legal work product.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
