Our commitment: This Code of Conduct protects the integrity of every attorney on the platform. When clients trust Verom, they trust you. Higher trust means better clients, higher fees, and a stronger practice.

Do

  • Respond to new case inquiries within 24 hours
  • Reply to client messages within 48 business hours
  • Provide case updates at least every 14 days
  • Set clear expectations about timelines and process
  • Communicate proactively about delays or issues
  • Use clear, plain language clients can understand

Don't

  • Leave clients without updates for more than 14 days
  • Ignore messages or become unreachable
  • Use unnecessary legal jargon to confuse clients
  • Make promises about timelines you cannot keep
  • Communicate case details through unsecured channels

  • Set fees clearly before accepting marketplace cases
  • Process all marketplace payments through Verom's escrow
  • Provide detailed invoices for all services
  • Separate filing fees from attorney fees
  • Refund unearned fees promptly if a case is terminated

Don't

  • Request or accept payments outside the platform for marketplace cases
  • Charge hidden fees not disclosed upfront
  • Bill for services not performed
  • Inflate fees after a case is accepted
  • Commingle client funds with personal funds

Verom's AI tools are designed to save you time — not to replace your professional judgment. Your obligations when using AI features:

Verom enforces this Code through graduated consequences:

  1. Coaching — For minor first-time issues, private guidance and education
  2. Written warning — Formal notice with required corrective action
  3. Payment hold — Pending payouts paused during investigation
  4. Temporary suspension — Removed from marketplace, existing cases continue
  5. Permanent removal — For serious or repeated violations

You may appeal any enforcement action through Verom's dispute resolution process. Appeals are reviewed within 10 business days.

10. Acknowledgment

By participating in the Verom attorney network, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in enforcement actions up to and including permanent removal from the platform.
