Quick access: If you are experiencing an accessibility barrier on our platform, please contact us immediately at accessibility@verom.ai. We will respond within 2 business days and work with you to provide the content or feature in an accessible format.
1. Our Accessibility Commitment
Verom.ai strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
We are also working toward compliance with:
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (US federal accessibility standard)
- ADA Title III (Americans with Disabilities Act) — as applied to websites and digital platforms
- EN 301 549 (European accessibility standard for ICT products and services)
- AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) — for Canadian users
- Equality Act 2010 (UK) — for UK users
2. Measures We Take
Verom includes accessibility as part of our product development process. Specific measures include:
Design and Development
- Semantic HTML5 structure to support screen readers and assistive technologies
- Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements
- Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements
- ARIA labels and landmark roles for complex UI components
- Text alternatives (alt text) for all non-decorative images
- Form fields with associated labels and error messages
- No content that flashes more than 3 times per second (seizure prevention)
- Responsive design that reflows for users who zoom to 400%
Content
- Clear, plain-language writing accessible to users at varying literacy levels
- Multi-language support to assist users who are more comfortable in languages other than English
- Consistent navigation and page structure across the platform
- Captions and transcripts for all video content
Testing
- Regular automated accessibility scans using industry-standard tools
- Manual testing with assistive technologies including screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
- Keyboard-only navigation testing for all key workflows
- Periodic third-party accessibility audits
3. Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge that some parts of our platform may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Known limitations include:
- PDF documents: Government form PDFs generated by our system may have limited accessibility. We are working to improve tagged PDF output. Users who need accessible versions of generated PDFs may request them at accessibility@verom.ai.
- Complex data tables: Some case management tables may have limited screen reader navigation. We are actively improving these components.
- Third-party integrations: Some third-party tools integrated into our platform (calendar widgets, payment processors) may have their own accessibility limitations outside our direct control.
- Legacy pages: Older pages in the platform may not yet have been updated to meet current accessibility standards. We are working through a systematic remediation process.
We are actively working to address all known limitations. If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please report it to us.
4. Assistive Technology Compatibility
Verom is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: NVDA + Firefox (Windows), JAWS + Chrome (Windows), VoiceOver + Safari (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
- Voice recognition: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Windows Speech Recognition
- Keyboard navigation: Full keyboard access without requiring a mouse
- Browser zoom: Content reflows properly at up to 400% zoom
- High contrast mode: Compatible with Windows High Contrast and macOS Increase Contrast
- Reduced motion: Respects the "prefers-reduced-motion" user setting to minimize animations
5. Requesting Accessible Accommodations
If you need information or functionality in an alternative format or need accessibility assistance to use Verom, we are here to help. We will provide alternative means of access upon request.
Available accommodations include:
